Couponing 101

I have an opportunity to share all that I've learned about couponing by teaching a mini-class to a group of friends of mine in the MOMS Club. Although I am by no means an expert (I've only been doing this for about 2 months myself), I am excited about this opportunity because 1) it's a way for me to help others be good stewards with the money they have and 2) we can support and encourage each other in our attempts to save money. Couponing, for me, is a way to contribute to my family financially without having to "work" outside of the home. I use the word "work" loosely because couponing does require time and effort in order to be successful, but so does everything. =) It's not a good feeling to always be spending money that I didn't earn, even if TJ and I are married. I'm not trying to start a debate about the fact that when we married, he agreed to take care of me, etc. I'm just saying that when I worked and had an income, spending mon...

Life in General

I added some new links to my blog list. I've been reading them for a while, just haven't added them until now. Check them out when you can! ************************************************ Not much going on here. I'm sick, along with Ta and T.G. We went to Carowinds on Friday, a birthday party yesterday, and spent the afternoon hanging a chalkboard that TJ made me for my birthday. Yes, my birthday is in January. Yes, he finished it in June, only 5 months later. He still needs to build a frame around it and we joked that the frame will be my anniversary gift. . . next year. The kids and I are doing some fun things this week. Tuesday is my luncheon with the senator. I am excited yet nervous, especially because I am battling a cold. TJ is coming with me, and I decided to bring Th with us, too. This is a rare opportunity and I want him to experience it with us. I have a sitter coming to stay the day with Ta and T.G. I am nervous because I have to get up in front of a bunch of ...

Spring Fun

This is my favorite time of year! My town has a 10-day celebration of spring each year, and there are daily activities for people of all ages. The event begins with a parade through the streets of downtown, and we walked in the parade with the MOMS Club for the second year in a row last night. The kids had so much fun! There were some really funny moments involving issues with other moms/kids, but all-in-all everyone survived the approximately 1.5 mile walk down the parade route and made memories to last a lifetime. I look forward to enjoying some other events over the weekend and next week. The beginning of spring also means the semester is coming to an end. I had my last day of teaching my student with autism (Adam) yesterday. It was sort of bitter-sweet. I am glad to see the close of the school year, but I had so much fun working with Adam and learned so much about myself as a teacher. It makes me excited about this final year beginning in the fall; I will be putting into practice a...
