Time Flies!

I haven’t updated in a few days but we’ve been busy. Saturday morning I got up early and T.G. and I left the house to run some errands before a friend of mine from church came over with her kids. I had asked her a while ago to paint a border on my chalk board (like back in January when TJ got the stuff to make it) but because the board wasn’t made, she obviously couldn’t do it. In the meantime we had asked my MIL to paint it, but she rarely comes out here and when she does visit, it would be difficult for her to paint because of the kids (just so you know, I don't mean that in a negative way. I'm simply saying we usually go to my inlaws instead of them coming here.) As it so happened, my friend’s husband is going through some financial struggles (he is an accountant for a real estate company- with the bad housing market, his hours have been cut in half) so I mentioned it to her again, offering to pay her a small fee. She offered to do it for free, but I couldn’t allow her to sp...

I am a lucky duck today. . .

I was privileged with the opportunity to use TJ’s iron. This may come as a shock to some, especially since I am the one who typically could care less if my clothes are wrinkled. I mean, I chase after 2 kids and nurse a third one all day, every day. I don’t see the point to ironing because, as soon as I’m done, my clothes are immediately wrinkled again. Usually, if I have something that needs ironed, I’ll lay it out for TJ to do when he irons his clothes. He takes care of me like that! Today, though, I didn’t decide what I wanted to wear until the last minute. TJ had already ironed his clothes and was about to leave for work. However, ironing was a necessity this morning. This particular pair of pants I chose to wear was extremely wrinkled, and I really had no other choice. As he was leaving, I asked him where I could find the iron (isn’t that sad- I have no idea where he keeps it!). He looked at me quizzically and told me to use the old one! Are you kidding me!?! He reluct...

What Can Brown Do for You?

Well, it finally arrived yesterday - TJ’s long awaited birthday gift. He ordered it Sunday evening and all week has been checking the front porch in case I happened to be upstairs and missed the UPS man. I was sitting on the couch nursing the baby while Th was playing with the dogs. I heard the rumble coming down the road but didn't think anything of it. The UPS man drove, well, sped is probably a more accurate description, past my house and I watched him as I do every weekday. Suddenly, I heard the familiar warning beep as the truck began to go in reverse. He stopped in front of my house and I scrambled to get myself in a position to open the front door. About that time, the dogs noticed we had company and jumped on Th, scratching him with their claws. He screamed and scared the baby, who, by the way, was mad because I had to stop nursing. At that point I had 2 barking dogs, 2 screaming kids, and my bra was not latched because I was trying to handle all the other commotion a...
