The 12 Days of...

I realize it's past Christmas, but this video is too cute not to post. I can definitely relate because I get these comments (and more!) anytime we are out in public. I have gotten used to hearing them, and try to reply in a nice manner and not get bothered by strangers' comments but it isn't always easy...especially at the grocery store when my younger kids are screaming  crying in the buggy, my older kids are fighting with each other, and I'm trying to remain composed enough to have a conversation with said stranger. Anyway, enjoy the song and I agree, I AM BLESSED WITH A FULL QUIVER! =)

From the mouths of babes...

T.G. this morning, as she was opening her window blinds: “Mr. Sunshine is trying to come out.”   Me: “Yes, it looks like it’s going to be sunny today.” T.G. “I think he said, ‘God, can I go outside today? I want to shine on everything.’” It was so sweet!  =)

20 Random Things

Some of this is the same as my Facebook page. But, I am doing this for those who are not on Facebook. Plus, it’s funny how you can know someone, yet not really know him or her. It’s the same with the Lord. He knows us, but unless we take time to know Him, we sort of make assumptions or guesses as to God’s character. 1. I love chocolate cake with white icing. It’s my favorite and the only way I think chocolate and vanilla should be combined. I hate chocolate cake with chocolate icing, and will tolerate white cake with chocolate icing. Picky, I know. 2. I went to 8 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and 1 high school. However, I moved 15 times before I reached the age of 18. I hate moving and always wanted to be the family that raised their kids in the same house for generation after generation. 3. I have lived in Rock Hill longer than anywhere else- -ever. We've been here for 5 1/2 years. 4. I miss the Air Force. I left home searching for independence within the confines of struc...

My Dad

I guess the day my dad had to call 9-1-1 he was napping on the couch since it was raining outside. Erin came in and woke him up and said she thought he had better call for help. Well, he jumped off the couch, ran into the kitchen, and poured a glass of orange juice. He brought it back into the living room where Erin was sitting and told her to drink it, and that he wasn’t going to call until she did. She told him she didn’t really feel like drinking orange juice, but he insisted, so she did. When she was finished, he asked her if she was feeling any better, and when she wasn’t, he then called. She was a little confused as to why he did that, so I explained that my uncle (my dad’s twin) is a diabetic and has been since he was a child. My dad’s brain is programmed to give him orange juice to help bring his blood sugar back up, and it was probably just his first reaction, especially since he was asleep. His mind wasn’t really processing everything she was saying, and he just knows to give...

Life in General

I added some new links to my blog list. I've been reading them for a while, just haven't added them until now. Check them out when you can! ************************************************ Not much going on here. I'm sick, along with Ta and T.G. We went to Carowinds on Friday, a birthday party yesterday, and spent the afternoon hanging a chalkboard that TJ made me for my birthday. Yes, my birthday is in January. Yes, he finished it in June, only 5 months later. He still needs to build a frame around it and we joked that the frame will be my anniversary gift. . . next year. The kids and I are doing some fun things this week. Tuesday is my luncheon with the senator. I am excited yet nervous, especially because I am battling a cold. TJ is coming with me, and I decided to bring Th with us, too. This is a rare opportunity and I want him to experience it with us. I have a sitter coming to stay the day with Ta and T.G. I am nervous because I have to get up in front of a bunch of ...

Pickin' Some Fun

I've been asked if TJ and I know our new baby's gender. Yes, we do, but we are choosing to keep it a surprise until delivery day. Some family members have gotten upset over our decision, but the surprise will be worth the wait when he/she makes his/her debut into this world. Until then, keep praying that the pregnancy will continue to be healthy and normal. We went strawberry picking over the weekend. Th picked one gallon all by himself, while TJ and Ta picked another gallon. T.G. helped me to pick a gallon, and all 3 kids had faces that were covered with strawberries. My mom, dad, brother, and sister (& Kaylee) went with us. Of course, whenever my dad is around, something embarrassing always happens. This was no exception. Somehow he tripped while trying to cross over a row of strawberries and fell. Except he didn't just fall, he rolled and tumbled. I couldn't get my camera on fast enough to catch him on the ground, but I did manage to take a picture of the poor st...
